MDR Hybrid Input Modules

As part of the HEIM DATaRec® 4 MDR (Modular Data Recorder) system, various Modules and Accessories are available from Safran Data Systems. These include but are no means limited to the following Hybrid Modules. Full datasheets are available on request.

MC10TAS - Secure Telemetry Transmit, PCM Input, Voice and Ethernet

The MC10TAS is a hybrid module for use in Heim MDR recorders (which may require firmware update) with a combination of 4 internal signal boards.

• 1 x AES-256 Encrypted Telemetry Transmit data channel (PCM data stream) output on 1 Physical output (IRIG 106 Chapter 10 embedded into IRIG 106 Chapter 4 constant bit rate PCM data stream for telemetry downlink). 1 PCM data channel for recording of the Telemetry Transmit data channel.

• 2 x PCM data channels on 1 Physical input and 1 Physical output. The Physical output can be configured as E to E loopback of the PCM input or as a second Telemetry Transmit data channel output.

• 4 x Voice data channels on 4 Physical inputs and 4 Voice Loopback outputs

• 4 x Ethernet Data channels on 2 Physical input/output

The MTVEE-TMBB-SBAA and MTVME-TM7B-SBAA hybrid modules also offer similar AES-256 encryption of the telemetry stream(s) combined with different PCM, Voice, and Ethernet input counts.

Encrypted telemetry requires decryption module in the ground station, such as the MTVME-RGPG-SBAA in a GMDR.

MAAAE-BBBB-AAAA - Hybrid ARINC 429 & Ethernet Input Module.

Each signal board is an independent signal part with separate channels. These modular signal board concept in general allows a wide span of channel type combinations and functions.

The module has a total of 3 ARINC 429 inputs and 1 Ethernet input.

MAMU - Hybrid ARINC 429, ARR, & PCM Input Module

The MAMU module supports 2 dual –redundant MIL-STD-1553B input channels, 2 PCM input channels and 8 ARINC 429 input channels.


The module is available in the following configuration: HS510-3040 transformer coupled MIL bus version, throughput mode PCM data 100 Ohm input impedance HS510-3040/1 direct coupled MIL bus version, throughput mode PCM data 100 Ohm input impedance HS510-3040/2 transformer coupled MIL bus version, packed, unpacked and throughput mode PCM data 75 Ohm input impedance Other versions on request.

MAMU - Hybrid ARINC 429, ARR, & PCM Input Module

MEEEE-BBBB-CCMM - Hybrid Ethernet Input Module

Each signal board is an independent signal part with separate channels. These modular signal board concept in general allows a wide span of channel type combinations and functions.

The module has a total of 8 Ethernet data channels on 4 Physical inputs (2 100T Ethernet Physical inputs; 2 Gigabit Ethernet Physical inputs).

MC10T & MC10TA - Telemetry Transmit Output, PCM Input with Ethernet

• 1 x Telemetry Transmit data channel (PCM data stream) output on 1 Physical output (IRIG 106 Chapter 10 embedded into IRIG 106 Chapter 4 constant bit rate PCM data stream for telemetry downlink). The content of the stream can be defined with data from selected channels in the MDR system and is converted to an IRIG 106 Chapter 10 data stream. 1 PCM data channel for recording of the Telemetry Transmit data channel.

• 2 x PCM data channels on 1 Physical input and 1 Physical output. The Physical output can be configured as E to E loopback of the PCM input or as a second Telemetry Transmit data channel output.

• 4 x Voice data channels on 4 Physical inputs and 4 Voice Loopback outputs (MC10TA only)

• 4 x Ethernet Data channels on 2 Physical input/output
